Feds Clears Doctors Being Investigated In Heath Ledger Probe

The two doctors that were being investigated in connection with Heath Ledger’s death have been cleared of any wrongdoing by federal investigators, Access Hollywood has learned.

The Drug Enforcement Administration confirms to Access the doctors (one located in Los Angeles and one in Houston, Texas) have been ruled out as the sources of the Oxycontin and Vicodin found in the actor’s apartment, following his death on Jan. 22.

The agency also confirmed the late actor had met with both doctors in the past, and both doctors had written prescriptions for Ledger. However, they would not say which drugs were prescribed.

Investigators are now on their way back from Los Angeles to New York. The investigation will continue in determining where the Oxycontin and Vicodin came from, the agency added.

An autopsy concluded Ledger died from a combination of oxycodone, hydrocodone (Vicodin), diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.
