Fifty Shades’ Jamie Dornan: I Don’t ‘Fear’ Playing Christian Grey

Jamie Dornan isn’t nervous about baring it all for the cameras in “Fifty Shades of Grey” – in fact, he’s ready!

“I certainly don’t fear it,” the actor, who will soon begin filming as Christian Grey, told Entertainment Weekly. “I already got a glimpse into working with [director] Sam [Taylor-Johnson] at the test, and I’d met [co-star] Dakota [Johnson] by then. So I had a glimpse into how I felt it would be if I got the part.

“None of it scared me,” he added.

Jamie, who’s used to stripping down (he used to be an underwear model for Calvin Klein), said the paparazzi presence in his day-to-day life has certainly increased since he took over the “Fifty Shades” lead role from Charlie Hunnam in October, but is under control so far.

“It’s happening, but not in an unmanageable way at the moment,” he said, when asked about paparazzi. “I’ve been around it before and it’s ugly, but I’m glad I’m 31 and not 21, and married. I feel very settled. I’m not running in and out of clubs at 5 AM anymore.”

The former “Once Upon a Time” star said his family has been supportive of his new role, but his friends have been (jokingly) giving him a hard time.

“A friend of mine texted me saying, ‘I heard about ‘Fifty Shades.’ Congratulations on the role. That’s going to be disgusting. I won’t watch it,’” he said.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, earlier this week, Universal Pictures announced the film’s release date has been pushed back to Valentine’s Day, 2015.

The movie was previously set to open on August 1, 2014.
