Final 2 Revealed On ‘American Idol’: Who Made The Cut?

Two hopefuls who were major standouts in the audition rounds have made it to the final on “American Idol.”

Teenagers Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will face off next week for the “American Idol” crown, the youngest ever final match-up in the show’s history.

But, while 16-year-old Lauren and 17-year-old Scotty prepare to sing their hearts out next week, Haley Reinhart is heading home.

Whether it was her fall on stage during her cover of Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be,” or her misstep on the lyrics of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” on Monday night, the voters didn’t carry the Chicago-bred singer through to the end.

Although she appeared disappointed by the news when show host Ryan Seacrest read out Lauren’s name as the woman moving on (Scotty had been saved moments before), Haley said she appreciated the opportunities the show has provided.

“Oh man, this is the biggest platform anybody could hope for and I rocked it out and I had a blast,” she said. “This is only the beginning. I thank you guys so very much.”

Haley’s final song of the night was a cover of Elton John’s “Benny & The Jets,” and she ended it by shouting out her quest to move forward.

“Yeah baby,” she screamed as her rumored beau, Casey Abrams, cheered her on with his hands in the air. “This ain’t the end of this! This ain’t the end of this… shindig. See you later!”

“American Idol” returns next week on Tuesday night at 8 PM for the final on FOX.‬
