First Of 3 Defense Lawyers In Anna Nicole Smith Drug Case Ends Closing Argument

The first of three defense attorneys has completed his closing argument in the Anna Nicole Smith drug conspiracy case, asking jurors to find a psychiatrist not guilty of illegally prescribing medication to the former Playboy model.

Attorney Brad Brunon told jurors Wednesday that Dr. Khristine Eroshevich is a caring person who responded to a cry for help when Smith was inconsolable following the death of her son.

He said Eroshevich tried to help by writing prescriptions for anti-anxiety medications.

Eroshevich is one of three people charged with conspiring to prescribe prescription drugs to an addict. Lawyers for the other two were to deliver their closing arguments.
