First Song In ‘New Moon’ Soundtrack Confirmed

With hype building around “The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s” November release, “Death Cab for Cutie” secured the first single on the movie’s highly anticipated soundtrack.

A snippet of their single, “Meet Me On The Equinox” can be heard HERE, and the entire song will premiere on MTV.com during the Video Music Awards on September 13.

In addition, fans that pre-order the soundtrack will receive a download of the single beginning Sunday evening, before it’s available to the general public.

While the full track list has not yet been revealed, many big name musicians ranging from The Jonas Brothers to Kelly Clarkson have expressed their interest in singing for the vampire franchise.

“The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of [the sequel], that would be great,” Nick Jonas told MTV last February.

Last year, before the release of “Twilight,” the soundtrack topped the Billboard 200 and featured two Paramore songs, as well as tracks from Muse and Linkin Park.
