For Sale: Swag From ‘The Fighter,’ ‘Black Swan’ & ‘Glee’ To Benefit SAG Foundation

In an award-show world of swag bags and gift suites for the already-gifted, enter something a little different — an auction for the less fortunate.

Items from some of the season’s most celebrated productions, including a pair of boxing gloves autographed by Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale of “The Fighter,” can be yours for a donation to the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, which is hosting an auction to raise funds for its various assistance programs.

Also available: a “Black Swan” jewelry box signed by Natalie Portman, the wedding rings from “The Kids are All Right.” A photo and signed script from “Glee.”

“We’re fortunate to be in a business where some of us work, but 99 percent of us don’t make enough to afford health benefits,” says actor Jack McGee, who is nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award Sunday as part of “The Fighter” acting ensemble. “This auction features memorabilia from the productions being honored and other items people don’t normally have access to.”

McGee’s signature adorns a poster from “The Fighter” signed by the cast, which is also up for auction.

Other items available include set visits to E! News, a “Rabbit Hole” comic book signed by Nicole Kidman, gift bags from HBO, “Modern Family,” ‘‘30 Rock” and “Dexter,” a buttery Fendi handbag and designer sunglasses.

The SAG Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency health care and financial assistance for needy SAG members as well as educational services for the public, including literacy outreach programs for children.

The auction opened to the public on Thursday and is set to close Monday. The 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be presented Sunday at the Shrine Exhibition Center and broadcast live on TNT and TBS.
