Former ‘American Idol’ Finalist Scott MacIntyre Marries Longtime Girlfriend

“American Idol” Season 8 finalist Scott MacIntyre is married!

The blind singer/pianist wed his longtime girlfriend, Christina Teich, in a small ceremony in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Thursday, according to People.

Scott, 26, performed “Wanna Be There” – a song he wrote for his now-wife – at the couple’s nuptials in front of 200 friends and family members, People reported.

The newlyweds met back in 2003 during a community theater production of “The Music Man” and became engaged in February.

Scott and Christina will honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii, according to the mag.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Scott finished in eighth place on the hit FOX reality show in 2009. He then toured the country with the show’s live concert tour before releasing an album, “Heartstrings,” in March 2010, which debuted at No. 18 on iTunes.

Scott was “Idol’s” first visually impaired contestant and also battled with dangerous kidney failure that left the Arizona native in dire need of a kidney transplant.

“In August 2007, the wife of my former piano instructor from Arizona State University donated her kidney to me,” Scott revealed to Access in an April 2009 interview. “She’s doing well, and I’m doing well. It’s just a miracle everyday that I’m alive now.”
