Fountain Of Youth: Brooke Shields On Looking Young In Her Forties

At the age of 15, Brooke Shields posed in a very famous commercial for Calvin Klein jeans. You may find it hard to believe, but Brooke is now 42.

She has kept her youthful appearance without plastic surgery, so it’s no wonder why the Access Hollywood Fountain of Youth series is recognizing Brooke’s achievement.

“Congratulations,” Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson told Brooke. “You have been awarded the Access Hollywood Fountain of Youth Award.”

“When you’ve been around as long as I have, you tend to not have those expressions thrown at you like that, so thank you,” Brooke said.

Brooke is fabulous at 42 and to this day she remains a natural beauty.

“I don’t know how I’m going to feel in a few years, [but] right now I’m attached to my face,” Brooke said. “I’m used to it. I would not know what to do if it looked different. I think I would have claustrophobia.”

A powerful choice of words and Brooke has made a powerful choice herself. She hasn’t had any plastic surgery to change the face we are so used to.

It’s a face that’s been in front of our eyes – aging gracefully since she shot to stardom as a teen with her controversial role in “Pretty Baby.”

And while as a teen, nothing got between her and her Calivins, today, she’s still in her prime, starring in the new NBC’s new dramedy, “Lipstick Jungle.”

“My face has been documented for so long,” Brooke said. “I feel proud of what I’ve earned with regards to how I look and I’m not ready, at this moment, to alter that.”

“A woman would look at you and say, ‘OK! Share with me some of your beauty secrets!’” Shaun said.

“When they are seeing me, we’ve been in makeup and hair for three hours,” Brooke explained. “I think that there is a sense that we wake up looking like this and I am here to tell you it’s not the truth. But, the healthier the lifestyle I lead the better I wind up looking.”

Being a successful model and actress has meant an intense focus on Brooke’s appearance and there has been scrutiny through the years. But, coming full circle, her plump lips that were once criticized are now “in.”

“Thank god for Angelina [Jolie] and little baby Shiloh,” Brooke laughed. “It’s funny when you get body parts of yours picked out and they talk about it — you know, your eyebrows, your lips. It’s just bizarre and I think it’s sort of silly.”
