Fourth Celebrity Eliminated On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Chiseled abs and a charming smile aren’t enough to win “Dancing with the Stars” — as The Situation found out.

After hovering near the bottom of the scoreboard since Season 11 began four weeks ago, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the reality dancing competition on Tuesday night — taking his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff, out of the race for the mirror ball trophy along with him.

“I was like, you know what, if I got eliminated today, I put it all on the floor last night, so I bow gracefully,” The Situation said, after the elimination announcement was made on Tuesday night’s results show.

“It is what it is, I tried my best,” the “Jersey Shore” star said. “At the end of the day, somebody’s gotta go home.”

After the show, The Situation did not speak to press. However, a rep for the reality star said it was because he was being treated by a general practitioner in his trailer due to “neck issues.”

Bristol “The Pistol” Palin and her professional partner, Mark Ballas, rounded out the bottom two, but were spared from elimination for at least another week.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, The Situation and Karina performed their take on the Argentine tango for Monday night’s performance.

Though The Sitch opened the number with a dazzling flip, “Dancing” judge Bruno Tonioli called the performance “a terrible mess.”

The couple earned a measly 12 of 30, “4’s” from each judge for technical, and a total of 16 for performance; a total of 26 of 60, for the lowest score of the night.

“That’s definitely a situation,” Mike declared of Monday’s dismal scores.

Monday marked a milestone for the “Dancing” show – their first ever “acoustic week,” featuring a new circular stage that brought the judges and audience much closer to the celebs, but not close enough for some.

“No one sweated on me,” “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s” Carson Kressly (who was sitting in the audience for Monday’s performance show) joked. “Which is why I want to come back… I feel like I was a little bit jipped!”

While Sitch’s tango may have been less than stellar, the fiery dance was redeemed by a stunning performance from professional tango troupe Forever Tango, complete with sharp footwork, spins and gravity-defying lifts.

“Dancing’s” acoustic week continued, with the UK’s Florence and the Machine’s first-ever acoustic performance on U.S. television. The Brit band performed their smash hit, “Dog Days Are Over.”

Initially accompanied only by a guitarist and a harp player, singer Florence Welch gave a commanding performance, enveloped in ethereal cloud-like smoke, before eventually being surrounded by dancers.

The GooGoo Dolls also performed a medley of their hit ballad “Iris,” as well as their new single, “Not Broken.”
