Fox has ordered a pilot for a new series – “24: Legacy” — which will feature all-new characters.
The pilot, like “24,” will be told in real time. It will center around a military hero, who returns to the U.S., followed by trouble.
He will turn to the CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) for help “in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil,” Fox said in a release on Friday at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour.

Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz are back as executive producers in the project from 20th Century Fox Television.
In 2014, original series star Kiefer Sutherland reprised his role as Jack Bauer in “24: Live Another Day,” a 12-episode limited series.
