FOX Sets Premiere Dates For American Idol, The Following, Touch

“American Idol” fans eagerly awaiting the matchup of new judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj can mark their calendars.

The show will return for its twelfth season on January 16 at 8 PM on FOX, the network announced on Wednesday.

“Idol,” also featuring Keith Urban and Randy Jackson in judges chairs, and Ryan Seacrest as host, will have a two-night season premiere, continuing January 17 at 8 PM on the network.

FOX also revealed that its new series, “The Following,” starring Kevin Bacon as a former FBI agent and James Purefoy as a serial killer, kicks off January 21 at 9 PM.

In related programming news, Kiefer Sutherland’s “Touch” returns for its second season on February 1 at 9 PM.
