When it comes to “clear eyes, full hearts,” “Friday Night Lights” “can’t lose” – now that the series has found a home on ESPN.
The critically acclaimed (and ratings-challenged) series, set in the world of Texas high school football, will live on past its run on NBC (which airs the series finale on July 15) and DirecTV (where it already aired earlier this year) on ESPN and ESPN Classic, TheWrap.com reported.
Tonight on ESPN, the first two episodes of the first season will air back-to-back at 8 PM followed by a move to ESPN Classic, where a marathon of the first season will air on July 14.
On July 21, “FNL” will begin airing on ESPN Classic every Thursday at 9 PM.
The “FNL” love doesn’t stop there!
In August, ESPN is launching the Longhorn Network – an entire channel dedicated to sports from the Lone Star state – where all five season of the series will air.
In related news, on Thursday the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced and many TV pundits believe that series stars Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton – who earned nominations last year – could be nominated again.
