Friend: Polanski Finishing Film Under House Arrest

A Swiss newspaper is reporting that a friend of Roman Polanski says the director is finishing the edit of his latest movie “Ghost” while under house arrest.

French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy has been quoted as telling weekly Le Matin Dimanche that Polanski is surrounded by family and bombarded by supportive telephone calls.

Levy said in the interview published Sunday that he visited Polanski in his chalet in the luxury resort of Gstaad about 10 days ago and found him like “a rock.”

He says the movie maker is working and confident even if his family is worried about the U.S. extradition request hanging over him. Levy says he was able to have dinner with Polanski in the chalet after his Dec. 4 transfer to house arrest from a Swiss jail.
