?Bob’s restless spirit has moved on — I have to say, when I spoke with him last week, he seemed impatient for the future. He still had the generous, optimistic appetite for the next thing, and we planned the next film laughing in anticipation of the laughs we’d have. What a gent, what a guy, what a great heart. There’s no one like him and we’ll miss him so.? ? Meryl Streep

“One of the great, great directors; one of the greatest directors I have ever worked with. He understood the actor and the story, but more importantly he knew how to make them all work together – he was one of a kind.” ? Whoopi Goldberg

“Bob was and will continue to be one of the great influences in my life as an artist and man, and I’m enormously grateful to have known him.” – Robert Downey Jr.
