‘Furious 7’ Will Have An Emotional Surprise Ending

The “Fast & Furious” movies are known for great cliffhanger endings, but the latest, “Furious 7,” changes direction.

Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker and Ludacris in ‘Furious 7’

Tyrese Gibson, who returns as Roman in the latest installment, revealed on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live that end will bring on the tears instead of the shock.

“You know what is interesting, anybody who has seen the last four or five ‘Fast & Furious’ [movies] is that they will know that there is a cliffhanger at the end of every movie,” Tyrese told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. “It’s like this new character or somebody is gonna step in and avenge a death – there is something, [but] we left that alone this time.”

So how will “Furious 7” – which lost star Paul Walker during production – conclude?

“We ended the movie the way it’s supposed to be ended. The beautiful tribute that I think the world is really going to appreciate,” Tyrese explained.

Kit said she expects audiences will be feeling the emotions as the credits roll.

“It’s a tear jerker, the ending,” she said. “There will not be a dry eye in the theater.”

“[But,] beautiful, happy tears,” the actor added.

As for whether Tyrese thinks an eighth movie could happen, the actor said they are focused on the present.

“We’re just gonna have fun with this one right now. And based on the energy, the success, based on the appetite of the fans and if they want us to do it again, then we’ll get to that conversation when it’s time,” he explained. “Me talking about ‘Fast 8’ would be, I think, inappropriate right now.”

Adding, “The fans have been patient. They’ve been waiting. They’ve been sending all these prayers and all this energy around to the whole cast and the family and the crew… we’re just gonna allow this one to be embraced hopefully around the world.”
