FX Announces Premiere Dates For ‘Fargo’ Season 2, ‘AHS’ & ‘Bastard Executioner’

FX has announced the premiere dates for “Fargo,” the latest installment of “American Horror Story” and new drama “The Bastard Executioner.”

“Fargo” Season 2, which is set in 1979 and spans 10 episodes, premieres on October 12 at 10 PM ET/PT.

The new season will follow characters including the father of Season 1 character Molly – Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson), when he was a young State Trooper, who is working on “a case involving a local crime gang, a major Mob syndicate and a small town,” according to the network. Helping him on the case is his father-in-law, Sheriff Hank Larsson, played by Ted Danson. Kirsten Dunst stars as Peggy Blumquist and “Breaking Bad’s” Jesse Plemons plays her husband, Ed.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” makes its debut on October 7 at 10 PM ET/PT. This season’s cast features Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloe Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock. It will span 13 episodes.

More details on the series are expected on Friday at the FX portion of the Television Critics Association Summer Tour.

Finally, “The Bastard Executioner,” from “Sons of Anarchy” boss Kurt Sutter, will make its debut on September 15 at 10 PM ET/PT.

The drama, set in medieval times, is the story of Wilkin Brattle (played by rising star Lee Jones), “whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner.”

The series also stars Katey Sagal as mystical healer Annora. “True Blood” alum Stephen Moyers plays Milus Corbett, described as “a devious Chamberlain with grand political aspirations.” Season 1 of “The Bastard Executioner” spans 10 episodes.
