Game Of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke On Season 3 & How She Told Her Folks About Dany’s Nude Scenes

“Game of Thrones” returns to HBO on March 31, 2013 and Emilia Clarke said her character – the Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen – is ready to really take charge.

“[In] Season 3, Khaleesi kind of gets properly bad ass,” she told Jimmy Kimmel on Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Emilia was fresh out of drama school (aside from two tiny cameo roles on two TV dramas) when she secured the role of Dany in the HBO production, and on Monday, she revealed how she told her folks she’d be nude on the show.

“It was the kind of thing that I told my mum and then my mum kind of told my dad… with me being nowhere near,” she laughed.

“I think he’s pleased that I was employed. At least I had a job,” she said.

Emilia revealed the nudity actually shocked her uncle, who is a fan of the series.

“It was less my dad, it was more, as I found out last Christmas… my uncle Ken,” she said. “He’s from Yorkshire, and it was over Christmas… But he was kind of alarmed, I think, when he saw it… It was last Christmas. He sort of looked me dead in the eye, and was like ‘Emilia, you didn’t tell me! You didn’t tell me that you’d be naked for that long.’”

Asked if uncle Ken has anything to worry about in Season 3, Emilia replied, “There may be!”

Back stateside, Emilia will next appear on Broadway in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” opening early next year.
