Game Of Thrones: Producers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss To Direct During Season 3

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the executive producers of “Game of Thrones” are set to direct the show for the first time in the upcoming Season 3.

HBO announced on Wednesday that the pair will join Alex Graves, Michelle MacLaren, Dan Minahan, David Nutter and Alik Sakharov directing the 10 episode third season, which begins production next month.

Benioff and Weiss will also continue writing the show alongside Bryan Cogman, series author George R.R. Martin and Vanessa Taylor.

The show, which stars Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, will shoot in its home base of Belfast, Northern Ireland. The show will also shoot in Croatia again and Iceland, where the scenes north of The Wall were shot in Season 2.

A new locale has been set for filming – Morocco – will feature into the show’s upcoming season.

“Game of Thrones” Season 3 premieres in 2013 on HBO.
