George Clooney & Amal Clooney Adopt Basset Hound From Rescue Shelter

George and Amal Clooney are
adding to their family – the couple has adopted a new dog!

The Oscar-winning actor and
his human rights lawyer wife stopped by the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society
on Wednesday and took home a 4-year-old Basset hound named Millie.

According to the shelter’s
website, Millie was brought in after being found looking for food scraps outside
a local restaurant earlier this month. She landed herself on the Clooneys’
radar when they spotted her on Petfinder.

“They
took the time to get to know her and vice versa,” shelter spokesperson
Lynn Collman told the Huffington Post of the couple’s meet-and-greet with
Millie.

George
and Amal also brought in a third party to help weigh the decision — their
cocker spaniel, Louie!

The
Clooneys spent an hour and a half playing with Millie and asking the shelter
staff questions, HuffPo reported.

“[They
were] making sure she was a good fit for their other rescue dog, and would be a
good family member,” Collman told the website.

The
visit clearly went well, as evident by the shelter’s Facebook post
congratulating the happy new foursome.

ADOPTED! Millie was adopted by George Clooney and his wife Amal!! Millie, a bassett hound, now has a new brother named Louie who is also a rescue! Congratulations and thank you for adopting!!
