George Lopez On Conan O’Brien Joining TBS: ‘Now Everybody Can Go LoCo’

George Lopez has no problems with his new co-worker, Conan O’Brien.

On Monday morning, Conan announced he was heading to TBS for his new late night show, which is expected to premiere in November, and the same evening, George, whose own show, “Lopez Tonight” is on the network, said he’s excited to have the redheaded funnyman on the same team.

“If you haven’t heard by now, Conan O’Brien will be joining us on late night on TBS. Welcome! Welcome!” George said during his Monday night show. Earlier in the day he also Tweeted a welcome message.

Before the headlines were even able to begin, like they did when NBC was preparing to part ways with Conan and return Jay Leno to “The Tonight Show” helm earlier this year, George said he is totally accepting of his new TBS brethren.

“I want to say this, I want to say that I am completely 100% on board with this move,” George noted. “I talked to Conan on Wednesday and I talked to him last night and I said, ‘I welcome you into my deep loving embrace. Then I said, ‘Let’s take the party and make it bigger and take it into the next generation of late night TV. Lets do that! Lets do that! Lets do that!’”

George added that he could combine his name with Conan’s nickname for a new late night super power combo.

“Everybody’s heard of ‘I’m With CoCo’ but now everybody can ‘Go LoCo,’” he laughed.

Later in the show, Chris Rock, who was George’s Monday night guest, joked about Conan’s move to TBS.

“Conan’s coming? Where are you going?” Chris asked.

“I’m staying,” George said. “I’m going to midnight. He’s coming in at 11 o’clock.”

Conan O’Brien’s new show will premiere on TBS in November.
