George Lopez Talks Conan, Sandra & His TBS Late Shift

Sandra Bullock has not been scheduled as a “Lopez Tonight” guest, despite reports to the contrary, George Lopez told Access Hollywood on Thursday.

Though the star will be looking for big guests to kick off his move to midnight next season as Conan O’Brien takes over the 11 PM hour with a new show, George told Access about the Sandra rumor, “I haven’t inquired about it, I wouldn’t do it out of friendship for us.

“I don’t ask her questions like that, I’m just supportive of her,” he added of the controversy over her husband Jesse James’ alleged affairs. “She’s getting some time away, which is important.”

Asked if he had spoken to Jesse, George didn’t miss the opportunity to crack a joke.

“No. My car’s running fine, I don’t need to talk to him,” he said.

As for his move, George told Access he’s looking forward to following Conan’s TV return – as long as he doesn’t have to go on too late.

“I don’t look at midnight [as bad] – if I was on after Carson Daly, or next to some dude that’s dehydrating me – it would hurt me,” he said. “That’s not the case in this the situation.”
