George Lucas Marries Mellody Hobson

Does the Mos Eisley Cantina band play weddings? George Lucas and Mellody Hobson have tied the knot!

The “Star Wars” creator, 69, and his bride, 44, got married this weekend, People reported.

According to the mag, the couple – who announced their engagement in January after dating for seven years – wed in Marin County, Calif., the same location as the filmmaker’s Skywalker Ranch.

Some of Lucas’ fellow filmmakers and actors he’s directed congratulated him and his bride – an ABC News contributor and chairman of the board at DreamWorks Animation – on the happy news.

“Let’s give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his Bride Melodie on This their WEDDING DAY!! Congrats!!!!!!,” Samuel L. Jackson, who played Jedi Mace Windu in three “Stars Wars” movies, Tweeted.

While Ron Howard wrote, “George Lucas Melody Hobson wedding was joy to behold Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas”

Lucas, who sold his “Star Wars” empire to Disney last year, was previously married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969 to 1983.
