The Mel Gibson/Oksana Grigorieva saga continued to make headlines on Thursday with a slew of new claims and developments emerging in the former couples’ ongoing alleged domestic violence incident.
On Thursday, Radar Online reported that in statements to law enforcement officials, Grigorieva claimed Gibson threatened to hit their daughter Lucia during one of their alleged fights.
“Take her! I will hit her,” Mel reportedly told Oksana.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported sources claimed that Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators are waiting for multiple telecommunications companies to turn over evidence related to the former couple’s ongoing case – which reportedly include text messages and e-mails between Gibson and Grigorieva.
In other related communications news, Grigorieva’s new lawyer James Spertus, who she hired for the investigation into the extortion claims against her, is having the singer’s home swept for possible planted cameras and wiretapping devices.
Also on Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter ran a story claiming that investigators in the former couple’s domestic-violence probe reportedly want to question publicist Howard Bragman, who briefly worked for Grigorieva.
According to THR sources, investigators want to question the publicist about where Grigorieva got the money to pay him and if that money came from the leaked recordings of the couple’s fights – something Grigorieva has denied leaking.
THR also reported that investigators want to know if the Russian singer told him anything about Gibson’s alleged abuse of their daughter.
When contacted by THR, Bragman declined comment, as did Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Steve Whitmore.
As of Thursday afternoon, a rep for Gibson had “no comment” to Access Hollywood on the situation.
