‘Girl Meets World’ Is Ending

“Girl
Meets World” is coming to an end.

The
Disney Channel show won’t be getting a fourth season, the writers of the show
confirmed on Twitter on Wednesday.

“It is with incredible pride in our work
and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience
that our show is over,” one tweet from the Girls Meet World writers Twitter account read.

The
network released a statement confirming the news to Access Hollywood.

“Disney Channel
will present the series finale of ‘Girl Meets World’ on Friday, January 20
(6:00 p.m. EST). In the episode, ‘Girl Meets Goodbye,’ the Matthews family
contemplates a life-changing decision. We are proud that for over 70 episodes,
Michael Jacobs, April Kelly and the talented creative team, cast and crew
entertained viewers with an authentic and heartfelt look at navigating
adolescence,” the statement read.

“Girl Meets World”
first hit the air in 2014 as a spinoff of “Boy Meets World.” The
series reunited original series stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishell on screen
as Cory Matthews and Topanga Matthews, parents to Riley, played by Rowan
Blanchard, and Auggie, played by August Maturo.
