Glam Slam: Chelsea’s Gorgeous Gown!

Congrats to Chelsea and Marc!

By now you’ve seen Chelsea’s wedding dress. What do you think? The women in our office are gaga over the custom Vera Wang dress described as an “ivory strapless raw edged laser cut swirling silk organza ball skirt and train, with a silk tulle diagonally draped bodice and accented by an embellished belt.” My co-worker Sharon says, “it was beyond.”

The groom wore a Burberry tux. Each of Chelsea’s bridesmaids wore a strapless bias cut lavender chiffon gown with a side drape and contrasting plum bow.

For the reception, Chelsea changed into a silk tulle Grecian gown with criss cross back and narrow grosgrain black belt. While I’m sure that gown was also beautiful, it must have been hard to change out of her amazing princess gown.

I, too, loved her gown. And was pleasantly surprised by it! It was elegant, of course, but not totally traditional and even a little edgier than I expected. The skirt, especially, with the raw detailing is nothing short of exquisite. And very modern. The crystal-embellished belt is a signature “Vera” touch.

Her up-do and makeup were clean and simple and didn’t compete with the gown. Fashion insiders are already predicting that Chelsea’s dress will set trends in the bridal world. (There are already companies scrambling to make the look-for-less version.)

That’s the ultimate compliment, for what must have been a nerve-wracking dress selection process. Not only did Chelsea have to deal with the typical bridal jitters, she also knew that she, her dress and every detail of her entire wedding would be intensely scrutinized. She pulled it all off brilliantly.

You done good, Chelsea. You done real good.
