Glam Slam: Gisele’s Supermodel Sparkle

“Gisele has something that appeals to every generation,” Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld told Access Hollywood on Monday night, as we were invited to cover a special and very exclusive event celebrating Gisele Bundchen as the new face of the iconic perfume Chanel No 5.

“She is a kind of a perfect woman,” Karl went on to say. “The young can identify and the older think they can still be as good as her.”

Um, heck, I would settle for being one tenth “as good as” Gisele. Who wouldn’t?

The 34-year-old mother of two is drop dead gorgeous and has the paycheck to prove it — she’s the highest paid supermodel in the world. Don’t get me started on her body. Look at her rocking that metallic mini last night. Wow. Just. Stunning.

She doesn’t look too shabby in the ads either, which were directed by Oscar-nominated director Baz Luhrmann.

“It’s an honor,” Gisele told us, about appearing in the campaign, which also features the model hitting the waves in a sexy wet suit designed by Lagerfeld.

“I really understood who this woman was, because it’s really so much of me,” Gisele said. “And I think it’s showing that vulnerable side that I really love. Because for me the whole water part was really nice because it’s about that time we’re talking about meditating, going inward. It’s really accessing everything because life is busy, ya know? You have kids and a husband and other family and your work and you gotta find a balance between all that.”

“Maybe someone can look at my life from the outside and be like ‘Oh this is so perfect,’ Gisele goes on to say. “But… as a woman and as a mother and as a wife I think we’re always trying to do our best and sometimes, you are not the best at one. You can’t be the best at everything at the same time, you just have to kind of do everything you can in each individual time like live in the moment. Be in the moment with your kids, be in the moment with your husband, be in the moment, ’cause you can’t be at 20 places at the same time.”

Well said. Beauty and brains. I love her even more.
