Carrie Bradshaw’s “Carrie” necklace became an iconic fashion piece on “Sex and The City” and you may have even gone out and gotten your own nameplate necklace after seeing fashion plate Carrie wear it so well!
And if you caught the debut of the SATC prequel “The Carrie Diaries” last week, you may have noticed that young Carrie, played by AnnaSophia Robb, also wears a signature necklace… this time a cute, ‘80s style “C.”
The initial necklace is by jewelry designer Alex Woo and she contacted me directly to let me know her necklace appearing on the show. Let me tell you, most designers don’t do that and I love her personal touch!
“I was so excited,” she said when she got the call the necklace would be featured on the show. “It was especially exciting since I am a New York brand and it is a design that’s classic enough to be featured on the show.”
Add one more TV show to Alex’s already jam-packed resume…her designs have been featured on many shows including “Gossip Girl” and “Private Practice,” and stars like Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria are fans.
Not too shabby. Especially for a woman who is so clearly passionate and proud of her work. Well, done Alex!
