Glam Slam: Golden Glam!

Kate Hudson’s white Marchesa is one of those gowns that elicits a strong reaction. It’s a “high fashion” choice that I thought was very glamorous and unique, but one of the crew guys on the red carpet told me he thought it looked like she stuffed her top with tissue and it was falling out! As they say, ‘To each his own!’ More than 60 percent of voters on AccessHollywood.com are digging the dress though, choosing it as their favorite of the night. (Click here for a gallery of photos the Access staff took on the red carpet).

I also loved Penelope Cruz and her beautiful Giorgio Armani Prive black lace beaded gown with dramatic neckline. And ‘Glee’ star Lea Michele’s ebony Oscar de la Renta was a statement gown that I could actually picture Penelope wearing. Love how Lea paired it with 83 carat emerald cabochon earrings from Chopard.

Purple reined the red carpet. Sandra Bullock in Bottega Veneta, Fergie in lavender Elie Saab and ‘Avatar’s’ Zoe Saldana in plum Louis Vuitton all dazzled.

There were plenty of other bright colors. Cameron Diaz paired her red Alexander McQueen with red lips. Gabourey Sidibe worked emerald green Kevan Hall. Marion Cotillard chose dark green silk Dior. Maggie Gyllenhaal wore salmon Roland Mouret and can I just tell you- she must be the tallest celebrity I have ever met. I was a full foot shorter than she is! She did confess to me that it’s because she had on massive six inch heels.

Jennifer Aniston showed off major leg action in her slit-up-to-there Valentino! Mariah Carey revealed WAY too much cleavage in her black Herve Leger gown. Mimi- please see Halle Berry and her low-cut Kaufman Franco gown for how to do cleavage the right way. Drew Barrymore’s nude colored Atelier Versace gown looked prettier in person than it did in photos, where the shiny crystal embellishments on her shoulder and hip looked like brillo pads.

I have to give a shout out to the guys. Tom Ford came up on our platform and I just DIED! He is so gorgeous. Taylor Lautner is a cutie pie, Chace Crawford is far too beautiful…and Bradley Cooper is just hot, hot, hot!

The most unusual look of the night? Tea Leoni wore husband David Duchovny’s button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, which she paired with a long strand of black pearls and a black skirt. I give her props for trying something different.
