Glam Slam: Golden Globe Glam

Round-the-clock dress fittings, mad dashes for the best jewelry and accessories like killer heels and beautiful bags… the stars are in a scramble to get red carpet ready in time for this weekend’s Golden Globes.

And while you may have on the most beautiful dress in the world, if your hair or makeup aren’t absolutely perfect, you will be crucified in the press. Rene Zellweger and Drew Barrymore are two stars whose Golden Globe do’s were ripped as don’ts.

Celebrity Hairstylist Ric Pipino, who has worked with Jaime Pressly and Ali Larter, predicts we will see styles on the more natural side at the Globes.

“People are a little looser. They are a little more casual. It’s not the Oscars, but there is definitely an elegance to it,” he says.

Ric also predicts hair will be “a little sexier, a little hotter” at the Globes, but no matter what the style is, it should never overpower the person wearing it.

“It has to look amazing with the outfit and work, but you don’t want to have a crazy hairdo just because it’s a statement. Otherwise you’ll be on the no-no list. You don’t want that.”

No, we don’t! The right makeup is just as important. Sara Strand, founder of Pop Beauty (a fave of Katy Perry, Emma Watson and Selena Gomez) says expect to see a clean, polished look rule the red carpet.

“Try to enhance your natural beauty, but also, I feel that this year people are going to be a little bit more playful. It’s all about polishing up and just looking the best you can, really.”

In preparation of the Globes, both Sara and Ric will be pampering the stars all day tomorrow and Saturday at the Beauty 360 Suite at the Access Hollywood and On 3 Productions’ 4th Annual “Stuff You Must” lounge.
