Glam Slam: Hollywood Inspired Halloween Makeup

Halloween is just five days away. Got your costume picked out yet? Here are some celebrity costume ideas for you, courtesy of Nina Darguzis, Celebrity Makeup Artist at LA’s famed professional makeup store, Cinema Secrets.

SNOOKI FROM “JERSEY SHORE”
To achieve this look, the hair and her signature orange tan are key. A basic Elvira or Betty Blues wig will give you that Jersey pomp you’re searching for in Snooki’s dark hue. As for her “orange glow,” Cinema Secrets Dual Active Mineral Powder in Indian Clay is perfect. You can wet it to cover your face, arms and hands and it will dry to a powdery finish. The basic powder also comes in a convenient compact with a mirror for touch ups during the night.

To finish the look, apply a basic brown eye shadow over your lids and blend it up just above your natural crease. You can also add a silver or white shimmer just below the brow line. Use a black liquid liner to sketch along the upper lid with a long upturned tail at the end. Then, using a soft, black, liner pencil, sketch along your lower lash line. If your brows aren’t dark enough, you can use black mascara to darken them up after you’ve darkened your lashes.

Slick a light pink lip color like Ben Nye’s Lustrous Lipstick in First Blush across your lips and shimmy into a tight, black, spaghetti strapped dress and all that’s left is a pair of heels.

KATY PERRY FROM “CALIFORNIA GURLS”
To achieve this look, the hair and makeup is your key. If you look for a blue, Cleo-style wig or any medium-length blue wig with bangs, you’ll be halfway to your goal. The makeup look is fun and colorful. Base yourself with your favorite foundation. Brush a bit of bright pink powder blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Use the same bright pink blush and apply it onto your eyelids as shadow. Use a black liquid liner, like Sorme Jet Liner in Black, to sketch a thick glamour liner along the upper lid with a long upturned tail at the end. Then, using a soft black liner pencil, sketch along your lower lash line. Katy’s brows are best achieved with a brown cake liner such as Ben Nye’s in Brown and an angled brush. Apply a drop of water and sketch in a dense, sharply angled arch over your own brows.

Finally, a touch of super pink lip color, like OCC’s Lip Tar in Anime, will finish off the look. As for your outfit, if you’re not comfortable in a colorful pink brassiere, cut the collar off of a bright T-shirt, wear a pair of cute hot pants and heels and Viola. You’re a California Gurl!

RUSSELL BRAND
This is a great “couples” costume to pair with Katy Perry. To achieve this look, hair and makeup, again, is your key. You’ll need a dark headbanger wig or a dark, wavy, rockstar wig. It may need to be teased up if it’s not already messy enough: the messier, the better.

Not much is needed in the makeup department. Use a soft, black eyeliner pencil to rim around the lash line. If you can’t grow the scruffy facial hair, grab a black stipple sponge and black cream makeup. To apply, gently dab, stippling on the black cream to simulate scruffy hair growth. Then, toss on some black skinny jeans, a black shirt and jacket and maybe accent with a long, white scarf.

“BLONDE BOW” LADY GAGA
Lady Gaga is a performer with a billion looks, but one of the most popular is her blonde hair bow. To achieve this look, the key is in the accessories. You’ll need a long platinum blonde wig with bangs cut straight across, a matching platinum “hair bow” headband and dark, funky sunglasses.

For her makeup, it’s a very simple, basic look. Base yourself with your favorite foundation. Brush a bit of bronzer, like Cinema Secrets Ultimate Powder Blush in Adobe, starting near your earlobe and moving forward. Brush with an upward stroke toward your cheekbone. This will give you a striking contoured look. Using a soft, black eyeliner pencil, rim your lash line top and bottom and add some black mascara and flashy lashes, like Red Cherry’s JB-CPs.

To finish off the look, slick on some frosty, warm, pink lipstick such as Cinema Secrets in Pink Flower and dawn your craziest outfit.
