Glam Slam: Hot Heels!

The stiletto is celebrating the big 5-0!

“Whooo! That’s amazing. She still looks so good!” jokes Rosario Dawson.

No mid-life crisis for the stiletto! Thanks to shoe legends like Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik, the stiletto is looking better and sexier than ever at 50!

“I own many stilettos,” laughs “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer Julianne Hough. “Your legs look phenomenal in them. You feel like a woman.”

Which explains the classic and enduring appeal. Spiky heels have been traced as far back as 4000 BC Egypt… giving new meaning to the Bangles 80’s hit, “Walk Like An Egyptian.”

But it wasn’t until the 1950s, when a metal shank strong enough to support a women’s weight, without breaking, was invented. In 1958, Salvatore Ferragamo dubbed it the “stiletto” — the Italian word for “dagger.”

And boy do these babies look sharp. Other heels come and go, but the stiletto NEVER goes out of style.

“I’m a big fan of Jimmy Choo,” “Gossip Girl’s” Blake Lively tells us. “I just got a wonderful pair of Louis Vuittons… I love Chanel. That’s like asking someone what child they like more.”

Now, if only someone would make a stiletto that’s truly as comfortable as it is fierce!

“I love them on other women’s feet.” says Debra Messing. “I, for the love of god, I cannot stand, I can’t walk on them!”

TODAY’S FASHION FLASH!

Founded in 1983 by husband and wife Ugo and Valeria Campello, Cosabella’s celebrity client list reads like a who’s who… Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz, Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Simpson…

And Hollywood’s “It” girls can also be eco-chic with the company’s “Bamboo Collection” of eco-friendly lingerie and loungewear. Bella indeed!
