Glam Slam: How To Dress Stylishly In Rainy Weather

We are spoiled by our year-round sunny, warm So Cal weather, so all the rainy weather we’re having right now has put a real damper on my cute outfits!

So who better to ask about dressing for the rain than the stylish ladies in the Access Hollywood New York office. Jeneine, Nancy, Kathy and Terri have lots of experience dealing with all kinds of inclement weather, yet still manage to look incredibly chic.

How do they do it? Here are their tips:

Rock the Rain Boots – worth spending a few extra dollars for Hunters to be both chic and waterproof.

Umbrella – don’t spend lots of money on it on the off chance you leave it somewhere. Here in NY, we always leave ours on the train or in a cab or restaurant.

To beat the humidity, wear a cute hat or put your hair up in a cute high pony tail or messy low bun with some pieces hanging out, now that’s rain chic!

Put the designer bag away so the rain does not damage it, UNLESS it’s a Louis Vuitton, which we have learned can withstand the rain.

Go cute spy girl and wear a tailored raincoat like Burberry or a waterproof trench. Make sure you wear a coat to cover your jeans or you will end up drenched from the knee down if you don’t have on boots.

Be sure to check the forecast and see how long the rain is supposed to last, advises Terri. “In my case,” she says, “every time I wear my cute rain boots the sun comes out and I’m stuck wearing clunky boots all day long!”
