Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — Day-To-Night Holiday Glam

I love this photo and how glamorous and festive this lady looks. I bet she spent all day getting ready!

Most of us don’t have that luxury, especially with so many holiday get-togethers happening after work. But Regina Tseikhin, owner of The Beauty Box in Studio City (Hillary Duff and Teri Hatcher are fans), and the store’s resident makeup artist Victoria Brandenstein (who works with Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston) share easy tips to help you go from day to night quickly so you can show up “looking like the rock star you are!!”

Tip #1 Eyes – “I suggest buying a double sided eyeliner pencil. Two in one is a no brainer. I like Vincent Longo Smoke and Midnight pencil. You don’t even have to take off your eye makeup – just go over your eyeliner with the midnight side (a deep blue black) and apply to the inner and outer eyelids on both upper and lower lids, smudge and voila! The perfect smokey eye. Finalize the eyes with an extra coat of mascara just at the outer lashes – I love Maybelline Plush Volumizing Mascara.

Tip #2 Lips – Again, I suggest a double sided lip pencil – two-in-one is the key to time saving! Make sure one side is a neutral everyday color and the other side a deeper color for night. I like Vincent Longo lip pencil in Rosewood and Wine – it looks great on all complexions. You can always go right over the neutral liner with the deeper wine shade, fill in the whole lip and blend with your finger for a matte lipstick look. Saves time and money when trying to find that perfect lipstick color!

Tip #3 Cheeks – Yeah, yeah, I know some ladies think blush is not important, but it’s what gives you that flirty, youthful glow! A little blush goes a long way. I like Kevyn Aucoin cream blush in Mystere, or for those on a budget, Cover Girl Cheekers Blush in Golden Pink. They both look great on any skin tone, from the fairest to the deepest. Bonus tip…you can use as blush and lipstick when in a pinch.

Tip #4 – Every woman needs a little shimmer to complete her “night out” look. I suggest one powder you can use all over. To get that polished celebrity look, apply the shimmer under your brow bone and above your cheek bones with your ring finger. To make your eyes pop apply the shimmer to the inner corners of your eyes with your pinky finger. If you are fair to light complected use a champagne color, and if you are medium to deep use a golden shimmer. I like Stila “Kitten” all over shimmer powder duo.

You’re finished…you look like you just stepped out of a Makeup Artists chair and you did it all yourself in a breeze!”
