Dramatic and over the top makeup always makes an impression on the runway or the red carpet. But what about real life? That’s where famed makeup maven Bobbi Brown comes in. The CEO and Founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is the queen of wearable makeup looks and her gorgeous celebrity fans including Sienna Miller, Jada Pinkett Smith, Kim Cattrall and Susan Sarandon are proof of that.
Bobbi shares her personal Fall makeup tips with GLAM SLAM:
“Transitioning your makeup from Summer to Fall can be daunting, especially if you’re used to wearing less makeup with a Summer tan. Switch to a richer moisturizer to keep skin hydrated as the temperatures drop. Also, go for a lighter shade of foundation. I recommend having two shades of foundation: a darker one for the Summer and a lighter one for the Winter months. You can mix the two and always have the perfect match.
Fall is all about quick and easy ways to define your eyes. Make your eyes stand out by applying a creamy eye pencil along your top lashes. Start at the inner corners of your eyes and line outward, thickening the line as you get to the outer corners. For a softer look, lightly smudge the line.
Smoky eyes, like I did at the J.Mendel show at New York’s Fashion Week, are still a huge trend for Fall. Keep the look modern with rich colors and shimmering textures. Green is the coolest color for Fall. Try a deep, shimmering ivy eye shadow instead of the usual charcoal or brown. This look works especially well with brown or hazel eyes. Always finish a smoky eye with two or three coats of mascara.”
“Metallic eyes are a fresh way to make your eyes pop, especially for night. Try a metallic cream shadow - gold, silver, green and purple are beautiful - and apply it with your fingers for a subtle look or a brush for a more intense effect.
As we move into the holiday season, you will continue to see a lot of shimmery, metallic shades, but the color palette will become cooler with lots of chrome and icy pinks and purples. Try a pale silver lid with a deep, shimmering port lip - perfect for holiday parties.”
