We’re just a week or so away from spring’s official start, but I’ve already lightened and brightened up my makeup! Here’s how I am making the transition from winter to warmer weather.
EYES:
I traded in the dark wine color eye pencil for COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast in a really pretty gray, which is soft and easy to use and blend. I’ll admit I am not very brand loyal when it comes to mascara—I am constantly trying different ones. Right now, it’s L’Oreal Voluminous False Lashes, which makes my thin, skimpy lashes look pretty darn full.
LIPS:
Bye bye lipstick in drab earth tones…I’ve switched to bright lip gloss! Chanel’s best-selling Levres Scintillantes Glossimer has been my favorite lip gloss for years and new for spring—“Bagatelle” a pretty, flattering pink.
SKIN:
I am cool as a cucumber with Yes to Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser, which has that cooling effect you expect from the yummy veggies! Added bonus—the cleanser is 98% all-natural.
BODY:
My friend Cara introduced me to LaRocca Skincare Champagne and Shimmer Supreme Crème. It has a very, very faint shimmer (nothing too crazy or blingy for me) and smells yummy—so good for warmer weather when we all show more skin.
SCENT:
I’ve been alternating between my two fave Jo Malone scents—Nutmeg & Ginger and Pomegrante Noir, which are warm, heavier scents that scream “winter” to me. My friend Susan gave me Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom and Honey for my birthday, and the scent is so clean and fresh. Perfect for warmer weather!
NAILS:
I’ve been wearing a lot of Sonia Kashuk’s Blank Slate, which is a cool gray color I love. But to change things up, I’ve been wearing two bright shades from OPI’s new Holland Collection…a nice crimson called “Red Lights Ahead…Where?” and “Kiss me on my Tulips,” which is a bold pink…the first time I’ve worn pink in YEARS! So fun, so spring!
