Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays — Mommy Must-Haves

Congrats to Kim Kardashian, who, as you’ve heard by now, gave birth to a girl over the weekend.

Kate Middleton (and yours truly) have on month left. In fact, Kate and I share the same exact due date – yay – the home stretch!

Here are a few of the things that have helped me survive pregnancy and all its hormonal challenges!

EYES:
Bobbi Brown is famous for her ultra-flattering collections! I’m loving her Sea Pearls Shimmer Brick Eye Palette, which features ten colors that look good on anyone. Bonus- no brush necessary- you can use your fingers to create gorgeous looks.

FACE:
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 is one of the best multi-taskers around! I’ve been using it for years and it’s especially awesome at helping disguise dark circles from lack of sleep, as well as uneven skin due to raging hormones! I’ve also been using Kate Somerville Line Release Under Eye Repair to try and help even out lines and make me look like I got more sleep than I actually did.

LIPS:
This is one area where I’ve been going for color – big-time! MAC’s LIPGLASS in “Embrace Me” is a vibrant hot pink that’s the perfect pick-me-up! So fun!

NAILS:
Despite swollen hands and feet, I can still jazz things up with bright Summer nail colors. My friend Cara introduced me to the Pierre Hardy for NARS Nail Polish Pairs in Ethno Run, which features a bright orange that screams summer. Love!

STRETCH MARK PREVENTION:
The minute I started to show I ran out and bought Bio-Oil, which I also used during my first pregnancy, to help prevent scars and stretch marks. It’s affordable and accessible. I received some Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil, as part of a baby gift and have been using that as well. I’m a big Weleda fan and have been carrying around Weleda Skin Food Cream in my purse for years – I love the way that line smells.

BODY:
Because I am taking no chances when it comes to my skin, I have also been slathering on First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream like there’s no tomorrow. I use it a couple of times a day and it says on the tub it comes in that it’s for the face and elsewhere” so I’ve been using it all over my body. So far, so good…all the (excessive?) pampering seems to be paying off for my skin…no signs of stretch marks so far! (Fingers crossed!)

SUNBLOCK:
I’ve been sharing sunblock with my 4 year old using Yes to Cucumbers Natural Sunscreen SPF 40 Kids, which is 97 percent natural and hypo-allergenic, and free of parabens and petroleum. Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, this is not only great for kids, but also for when you are watching what you put on your pregnant skin!

HAIR:
I lost a lot of hair during this pregnancy, so I’ve been using Fekkai Protein RX PM Repair Strengthener to try to make hair less brittle and of course, there’s nothing like some good ol’ Moroccan Oil to help nourish fried hair and make it look sleek and shiny.
