Glam Slam: Model In The Making?

I took this photo of my daughter in her Diane von Furstenberg dress that also appears in this giant ad for the Gap. Of course, I’m biased, but I think she looks super cute and could just as easily trade places with the model!

So many people have stopped us and commented on how gorgeous our daughter’s hair is that my husband and I have joked that we need to get her a shampoo commercial or ad so we can pay for her college. We are not aspiring stage parents… I actually wouldn’t want her to go into showbiz. But just one ad while she’s young, so we can sock away some savings for her… that’s all, I swear!

Cindy Crawford recently pulled her 10-year-old daughter Kaia from modeling after she appeared in some ads for Versace Kids. If a seasoned pro like Cindy thinks her kid is too young, then in my very unseasoned opinion, my three-year-old is definitely too young!

I’m not ripping kids who model. I think a lot of kids have a great time doing it. I’ve certainly seen my fair share of child models here on our morning show Access Hollywood Live, and some of these kids are born to model — they love it, and love hamming it up.

When we’ve used staff kids as models for our Halloween fashion shows, my daughter has participated. She will only go on camera if her dad or I are there to hold her hand. Still…she LOVES when we take pictures of her and loves to say CHEESE and give a big grin. She loves to take photos in her sunglasses and in some of the colorful, crazy, fun outfits she puts together.

Yet, this photo is probably as close as she’ll ever get to modeling. And you know what? I’m more than OK with that.
