Glam Slam: My Night At The Daytime Emmys

That age old question came up yesterday, “What do I wear?” Followed by, “I have nothing to wear!”

I was heading to the Daytime Emmys — Access Hollywood was nominated and our team of outstanding producers made for a stylish show (that’s me with a few of the Access producers, pictured).

Looking for inspiration, I polled some of my co-workers this weekend about what they were wearing and if they were going for a short or long dress.

“Us New York girls are all going short!” one said.

Another producer, who is a new mom, said, “I think I’m going all out — long. It’s a rare day & night away!”

An hour before the event was starting, I was still standing in my closet undecided as to what to wear. I ended up just grabbing a black one-shouldered long gown that I’ve had for ages. It’s from Zara and cost $89. I put on a jeweled Vera Wang belt and grabbed my trusty Chanel bag. How’s that for high and low fashion!?

It was a hot 93 degrees when I left my house and my adhesive strapless bra would not stick! I was worried that it was going to fall off! Luckily, I did not have any wardrobe issues. Not that anyone was looking at a behind-the-scenes-person like myself anyway!

People wore all sorts of things. There were long gowns, short dresses… a pant suit or two. Kathy Griffin, wearing a long floral gown, hosted the event and started off the night telling the audience, “Welcome to the s#$% show!” It was a wild night, that’s for sure.

Access Hollywood was nominated in the newly created Outstanding Entertainment News Program category. We did not win. I could recite the cliche, it’s nice just to be nominated, but, let’s be honest, winning is better than losing. I’m still proud of everybody — our staff rocks. And at least we looked like winners in the style department.
