Glam Slam: Oscar Style Gold!

Ooooooohhhhh! So much fun at the Oscars this year. Loved watching all the action from our prime real estate towering over the red carpet… it never, ever gets boring for me!

It was a strong year for fashion… not a lot of misses, which was exciting to see. Here are the standouts:

HALLE BERRY
Total glamour! THIS is what a movie star looks like! Absolutely loved her stunning nude, crystal encrusted corset gown with organza and silk tulle ruffles courtesy of Marchesa. (Click here for the full photo gallery from the Oscars red carpet!)

THE LADIES IN RED
Anne Hathaway radiated in her vintage red taffeta Valentino gown, perfectly paired with red lips and beautiful jewels. Sandra Bullock also worked red Vera Wang taffeta with an interesting neckline and gorgeous draped back. Penelope Cruz who just recently had a baby, showed off the girls in an embellished red gown. Jennifer Hudson- boy is she looking great! In her va va voom Versace, which was so flattering on her new slim and trim figure. And then there’s me…I wore a gorgeous one shouldered gown by David Meister. (Who the heck knew I would be in such amazing company! LOL!)

HAILEE STEINFELD
Only 14 and such poise! She was totally age appropriate in a tea-length, crystal hand embroidered dress in pale ballet pink by Marchesa. So fresh – the perfect choice for her.

METALLIC RULES
Gaga for Gwyneth! She looked like an Oscar come to life in her molten gold Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein gown with Louis Vuitton jewels. So sleek and modern. Celine Dion (who gave birth to twins four months ago!) looked as fit as ever in a long-sleeved gold Armani Prive. Hilary Swank sparkled in a Gucci Premiere couture strapless, floor length evening gown with silver sequins and crystal encrusted metallic bustier with a full ostrich feather skirt in a degrade of color from a pale ice to fume grey.

PURPLE REIGNS
Mommy-to-be Natalie Portman looked radiant! Her purple Rodarte was so flattering to her blossoming figure. Her “Black Swan” co-star Mila Kunis went with lavender Elie Saab with super flattering neckline and I loved the back of Scarlett Johansson’s purple lace Dolce & Gabbana gown.

WHITE HOT
Michelle Williams blonde pixie cut was the perfect complement to her pretty white beaded Chanel Haute Couture gown. I liked that Nicole Kidman paired her strapless white embellished Dior with a sleek ponytail.

HELEN MIRREN
The very definition of a classy lady. She rocked a Vivienne Westwood Couture gunmetal gray silk gown, which showed off her cleavage.

INTERESTING CHOICES
Helena Bonham Carter predicted what she wore would be a “major catastrophe” and it wasn’t all that bad. I didn’t love it, but for her, she actually improved from the beginning of the awards season. Cate Blanchett wore a very fashion forward gown with bold shoulders by Givenchy Haute Couture. It was unique and very Cate who loves to push the envelope.
