J. Crew and Vogue teamed up to throw a fun private holiday shopping event at J. Crew at the Grove in Los Angeles.
The event, to celebrate the brand’s Fall/Holiday Collection, was hosted by Tom Mora, Head of Women’s Design at J. Crew, fashion editor Mary Alice Haney, entertaining expert Lulu Powers (she’s been on Access Hollywood Live!) and fashion editor Marlien Rentmeester.
There was yummy food and drinks and, as you can see from the photos, an artist on hand to draw cool “fashion illustrations.” I love this idea!
So fun and clever — and the wonderful illustrator named Bee told me that it’s become popular to do at weddings and dinner parties. Anyway, it was a good icebreaker as I met and talked with the other people in line waiting to get it done.
There were tons of good people watching…think 200 extremely well dressed fashionistas!
I also had such a good time running into people I haven’t seen in ages for a little catch up time as well as meeting new fashion folks, like the talented Los Angeles bag designer Clare Vivier.
We all had fun doing something we’re quite good at…shopping!!! And it was nice to go through the all the clothes with friends…something I rarely get to do these days. A portion of sales benefitted the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. So spending money on fashion went for a good cause.
That’s the best justification ever!
