Glam Slam: Queen Of The ‘Runway’

“It was hard to keep a secret this big for so long, I just tried really hard not to think about it!”

Talk about delayed gratification! That’s New York Designer Irina Shabayeva, who was crowned the winner of “Project Runway,” but had to keep her victory on the D-L for nine months…an eternity in the reality world! Irina may have been dubbed “Mean-a Irina” by fellow competitors, but she was nothing but nice to the GLAM SLAM squad. When we asked her to name her favorite and least favorite PR judges…she played nice and didn’t diss anyone at all! Hey- maybe she should get into politics!

Here we go- our FIVE QUESTIONS WITH….Irina Shabayeva.

1. Who is the celebrity you would most like to dress?
I would love to dress ALL of the celebs! I think there are so many beautiful women in Hollywood…You cant go wrong…..I do love Rihanna!

2. Who is the past “Runway” designer you’d most like to follow in the footsteps of?
I think a lot of pas runway designers have done very interesting things with their careers… I don’t necessarily want to follow in anyone else’s footsteps…I want to set my own…I have a new found love for television….I was so shy growing up and now I find it so liberating being in front of the camera! I was watching ‘Dancing With the Stars’ earlier…and was like “I want to be on it!”

3. What is one thing we don’t know about Heidi Klum?
Heidi sings and hums a lot on the set! =)

4. Favorite celeb judge?
I loved Max Azria as a judge because he is a true creative and appreciated all the work we did. Even if he wasn’t particularly fond of the work, he still appreciated all of the effort. I also loved Tommy Hilfiger, Suzy Menkes, Cynthia Rowley. Eva Longoria Rocked! She was so sassy and funny- I would love to dress her!

5. The most shocking thing that happened between the contestants that didn’t make air?
I would say probably the most shocking thing that happened that never aired..is that we all still liked each other and were very friendly when we were OUT of the work room and in the lofts…We had lots of laughs!

The 7th season of “Project Runway” begins on Lifetime on January 14, 2010.
