Glam Slam: ‘Sex And The City 2’ Week — Carrie’s Top Five Fashion Moments

For today’s Friday Five, we wrap up our special ‘Sex and The City 2’ week (hope you enjoyed it!) with a look at Ms. Bradshaw’s best outfits ever!

1. THE TUTU
Classic Carrie! The most iconic piece Ms. Bradshaw ever wore! Featured in the opening credits of the TV series, it’s instantly recognizable and perfectly sets up Carrie’s eclectic fashion sense. The original tutu was bought for $5 and is such a part of the ‘Sex and the City’ phenomenon it even made a cameo in the first ‘Sex’ film!

2. THE WEDDING DRESS
Oh yes! The elaborate Vivienne Westwood gown from the first ‘Sex And The City’ movie is just absolutely stunning! The fantasy wedding dress sparked such a frenzy that Westwood started selling made-to-order versions with a 6 month wait and a price tag of nearly $16,000! It was accessorized in true Patricia Field fashion with a bird headpiece, which I wasn’t too sure about… but if anyone can pull that off, it would be Carrie!

3. THE PARIS BALL GOWN
Another big, dramatic dress! From season 6 of the show where Carrie is waiting in her swank Paris hotel room for “The Russian” played by Mikhail Baryshnikov. This Versace couture confection is layers and layers of delicate soft gray tulle and at the time had a price tag of $79 THOUSAND!!!!!

4. FLOWER POWER
For the first ‘Sex and the City’ movie, Carrie wears a one-shouldered ruched white dress with metallic detailing and the most ginormous flower ever! The flower was a nod to Carrie’s petal obsession in season 3 of the show. I loved how she paired the feminine dress with tough black Givenchy gladiator shoes. In my opinion, all the edgy, masculine shoes we’ve seen recently can be traced back to that outfit, which shows just how forceful Carrie’s fashion influence is!

5. THE WHITE HALSTON
It was the very first outfit we saw her in for the sequel and for the very first scene of the film, no less. It got me excited about the movie and for me; it’s already a “Carrie classic!” The fact that it’s actually accessible and not some gazillion dollar couture dress makes me like it even more.
