Glam Slam: Spring Style — What’s Hot & What’s Not

Much of the country is braving brutal weather right now, which makes looking ahead to Spring even more enticing!

People StyleWatch Deputy Editor Joyce Chang shares what’s hot and what’s not when it comes to the latest fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends.

FASHION
It’s all about the ‘70s this season. Peasant blouses, high-waisted flares and pale denim are all huge for the season. They exude effortless cool.

HOW TO:
Accessorize your look with wood wedges, bold medallions on long chains and sleek envelope bags.

Color is also going strong this season. Orange is the hottest hue around.

HOW TO:
Try it in drapey dresses (like SJP!), tops and skirts, or go for a tailored jacket. It will brighten up your look and your mood!

BEAUTY
Makeup is getting its own colorful makeover. Fuchsia lipstick and eye makeup in shades of green and rose are pretty, but of-the-moment.

HOW TO:
To snag the nail polish of the moment, run out and get your bottle of Chanel Black Pearl now before it sells out! It’s dark but the slight green iridescence lightens it up for Spring.

LIFESTYLE
At home, try animal-inspired décor! Abstract animal prints and wildlife-inspired furniture are stylish but have an organic feel.

At restaurants, say goodbye to the bacon blitz that’s been going on. No more bacon-flavored everything from desserts to drinks! The new cuisine is Nordic. It’s all about clean, fresh, seafood flavors from Scandinavia.

Looking for the latest “It” travel destinations? Head to Deer Valley, Utah for super luxe, brand new resorts, Istanbul, Turkey for an inspiring mix of culture and shopping, or Croatia on the Dalmatian coast in Europe for a chic Summer getaway!
