With Summer’s heat and humidity, it’s all about the easy, breezy hairdo! Brig Van Osten, winner of season 3 of Bravo’s “Shear Genius,” reveals how you can achieve sexy star-inspired Summer styles!
SJP’S BEACH WAVES
Mist damp hair with Bumble and bumble Surf Spray and air dry. Next take large vertical sections of hair, spray with heat protective spray such as Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode. Wrap section of hair around a 1” clipless curling iron. It creates a much easier wave than a traditional curling iron. Hold for 10 seconds and release. Once all hair is waved, separate with fingers.
SELENA GOMEZ’S LOOSE BRAID
This style is great for just out of the ocean or poolside hair. Prep towel dried hair with Bb. Grooming Creme and allow to air dry. Next gather hair low to one side and loosely braid. Prior to securing with snag free band, shake braid to loosen a few strands around face.
ZOE SALDANA’S SUMMER UP-DO
This quick style is great for naturally wavy/curly hair. Section out hair from the top of your ears forward. Gather remaining back section of hair into a low bun with snag free band. Next take front section of hair and pin loosely into bun with bobby pins. Leave out a few strands around face. Finish with Bb. Shine spray for a polished messy up-do.
A few extra Summer hair tips:
Protect your hair & scalp from the sun with a hat or SPF. Green is NOT in when it comes to your hair color. Prior to swimming, wet your hair with tap water to help reduce amount of pool chemicals absorbed by your hair. Follow your pool party with a clarifying shampoo and moisture masque such as Bb. Creme de Coco.
Put away your dryers & irons and embrace your hair’s natural texture during the Summer heat wave. Ask your stylist to cut layers to add shape. Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek and Taylor Swift are great examples of this.
