Glam Slam: The Friday Five: So Long, Summer

Labor Day weekend always marks the unofficial end of Summer…and the end of some Summer wardrobe staples.

1. WHITE PANTS
True, the old rule of no white after Labor Day no longer applies and I will continue to wear white jeans for a few more weeks, especially because it will still be very hot in Los Angeles. But linen, or other very lightweight fabrics should be put away until next year. (Unless you’re going to South Beach or the Caribbean or some other fabulous tropical destination!)

2. SKIN-BARING STYLES
Time to start phasing out those cute sundresses, summery prints, tank tops, shorts, and bathing suits. Boo!

3. SANDALS
I’m going to hold out as long as I can because I LOVE sandals, but eventually I’ll replace them with closed toe ballet flats and then boots.

4. SUMMER BRIGHTS
The pink and orange jackets I bought were perfect for Spring and Summer, but don’t feel right for Fall. I just bought a lightweight rust colored jacket that I can wear now and up until it gets cold.

5. SUMMER NAIL COLORS
Bye Bye fuchsia and other bright neon colors. I’m ready for Fall’s darker shades like navy and burgundy.
