Glam Slam: The Friday Five — What To Do In January

Happy New Year! Here are five things to kick off the first month of 2010!

MAKE A FRESH START
I love the whole New Year’s resolution thing. I don’t always keep the resolutions I make, but I like the tradition of it and the idea of making a change, hopefully for the better. I am only going to make one resolution this time, and that’s just to take better care of myself this year. It’s hard when you have a baby… lack of sleep, not eating right or exercising enough. But I am going to make the effort!

MEET YOUR NEW ‘IDOL’
‘American Idol’ returns January 12th for the ninth season. Posh, Katy Perry and Joe Jonas are some of the guest judges filling in for Paula, who shockingly left the Fox hit series. I love that Ellen is joining the show (although we won’t see her until Hollywood week in February) and think she’s a breath of fresh air and will give Simon a run for his money.

GET GOLDEN
The Golden Globes are my favorite award show and it’s one of the best for fashion watchers because it’s more stylish than the Emmys, but less stuffy than the Oscars. At least that’s my humble opinion. Look for Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore and the ladies of ‘Nine’ to rock the red carpet. Sunday January 17th on NBC.

HIT THE ‘RUNWAY’
‘Project Runway’ is back for it’s seventh season… and after a stint in L.A., the gang returns to New York. Heidi, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia are back with 16 new designers. Premieres January 14th on Lifetime.

GO GRAMMY WILD
How outrageous will Lady Gaga get? What will Rihanna wear? You never know what will happen at the Grammy Awards… and that unpredictability is why we watch! Taylor Swift, Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas will perform. The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards air Sunday January 31st on CBS.
