Gloria Loring Defends Son Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines: You Don’t Keep Paula Patton If You Don’t Respect Women!

Robin Thicke has taken some heat for his racy “Blurred Lines” music video, which some critics lambasted for objectifying women.

However, Robin’s mom, singer and former soap star Gloria Loring, stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday, where she slammed the idea that Robin is disrespectful to the ladies.

“No, no, no. Excuse me. He’s been with the same woman for 20 years,” Gloria – whose new memoir, “Coincidence Is God’s Way Of Remaining Anonymous,” is available now – said, referencing daughter-in-law Paula Patton. “They met when they were 16 years old.

“You don’t live with Paula Patton if you don’t respect women, ‘cause you won’t keep a woman like Paula Patton!” she added.

Gloria, who has written many TV theme songs (including “Facts of Life” and “Diff’rent Strokes”) and played Liz Chandler for six years on “Days of Our Lives,” said Paula and Robin have a supportive relationship.

“She’s so sweet. She’s also very caring about those around her,” Gloria said. “She’s a great influence on him.”

Adding, “She is his muse and vice versa. They just play off each other so beautifully.”

And Robin has been keeping his mom in the loop regarding his pop hit’s huge success.

“He called me and said, ‘Mom, it is number one in 56 countries. This is my dream. I won the Super Bowl!’” she said.
