‘Gossip Girl’s’ Sebastian Stan Joins Ashley Greene For Big Screen Thriller

“Gossip Girl” star Sebastian Stan is leaving the Upper East Side for a much darker locale.

Stan – who plays the brash Carter Baizen on the hit CW series – will star opposite “Twilight” beauty Ashley Greene in the horror film “The Apparition,” according to Variety.

Inspired by true events, the film focuses on a young couple (presumably Stan and Greene) who becomes haunted by evil spirits after a college experiment goes awry.

Filming is slated to begin on February 1 and wrap in April.

Stan’s previous big screen credits include “The Covenant,” “Rachel Getting Married” and “Spread.” He is currently filming the thriller “Black Swan,” alongside Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Winona Ryder. In addition, Stan recently wrapped production on the comedy “Hot Tub Time Machine,” starring John Cusack.

Greene – who plays Alice Cullen in the “Twilight Saga” films – also appeared in the drama “Shrink,” starring Kevin Spacey, which was released in July 2009.

She will reprise her role as Alice for the third chapter in the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse,” which hits theaters June 30, 2010.
