Gossip Of The Week: Casey, Solange, Justin, Donald

Two men possibly suffering from dementia… an alleged cellphone robbery… and a brawl in an elevator.

From Casey Kasem to Solange Knowles, the Hollywood rumor mill turned out some pretty diverse stories this week. As we head into the weekend, here’s a look at the top news items you need to know in our celebrity gossip roundup.

CASEY KASEM

Days after leaving a nursing home, Casey Kasem has been found!

According to authorities in Kitsap County, the “American Top 40” host was located in Washington on Wednesday— though his exact location remains unclear.

Deputies apparently spoke to Casey and his wife Jean, who said they were on vacation visiting friends at a private residence. The disc jockey did not appear to be in distress and it was determined that he was receiving appropriate care.

“We are grateful to local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home,” daughter Kerri Kasem said in a statement.

The senior’s discovery occurred three days after a Los Angeles judge expressed concerns about the 82-year-old’s whereabouts and safety amid a dispute between his spouse and children from another marriage. The mystery further deepened when Casey’s kids disclosed in court that their father suffered from Lewy body dementia.

SOLANGE KNOWLES/BEYONCE/JAY Z

Also on Wednesday, the New York City hotel where someone recorded security video appearing to show Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, attacking Jay Z inside an elevator Monday evening revealed it has fired the person responsible for leaking the footage to media.

“The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ,” a rep for the chain told Access Hollywood. “The Standard will next be turning over all available information to the criminal authorities.”

Although we may never know why the fight occurred, Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange have released a joint statement, revealing that they “have moved forward as a united family” and that Jay Z and Solange have apologized– to each other.

JUSTIN BIEBER

Justin Bieber chimed in on his latest run-in with the law this week, Tweeting on Wednesday: “It is hard to defend myself and my privacy every moment of the day. Then to see rumors. The truth will set u free.”

The post seemed to be a response to reports that the singer allegedly stole a woman’s cellphone from her while he was playing miniature golf in Sherman Oaks on Monday night.

An attorney for the Biebs sorted out the details for reporters, acknowledging that his client had asked the lady to stop taking pictures of him with her phone, but claims he did not accost her or try to take her device.

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are investigating the allegations, and have asked the public to step forward with information.

DONALD STERLING

And finally, Shelly Sterling didn’t exactly defend her husband, Clippers co-owner Donald Sterling, following his controversial interview that aired on CNN on Monday.

“I really think personally he has dementia,” Shelly said in an interview that aired Tuesday morning on the “Today” show.

As her embattled spouse continued to shock the nation with headlines regarding racist comments he made during audio recordings that allegedly feature his rumored ex-mistress V. Stiviano, questions are being raised as to what’s really behind the talk that has so far caused the billionaire to be barred from the NBA for life.

Well, one doctor in Los Angeles believes the answer could be medical.

“Who knows what else he could be taking to improve his sexuality,” Dr. Damon Raskin theorized.

“There are definitely medications. And I’m not saying he’s on any of them because he’s not my patient, but it makes me think about when someone is trying to have sex with someone 50 years younger what are they taking to be able to do that? Some of those medications may affect his behavior.”

A rep for Donald has yet to comment. Who knows what next week will bring…
