“Gotham” has found its Jim Gordon.
Former “Southland” star Ben McKenzie has been cast in the role of Detective James Gordon, Warner Bros. announced on Saturday.
Based on characters from the DC Comics universe, “Gotham” is a TV drama by Fox and Warner Bros. which will explore the origin stories of Batman’s trusted law enforcement ally Commissioner Gordon, as well as the city’s notorious villains.
Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) penned the pilot and will serve as the show’s executive producer.
The pilot will be directed by Danny Cannon (“CSI,” “Nikita”).
